So, you know those days where you open your fridge and there's not much there? So you open your pantry and that's looking sad too, so then you just open your fridge again hoping something will appear? No? So it's just me then? Ok, haha. Welllll, the other day, I had that day. It had been a long day of work and homework and when I opened the fridge, all I saw were 3 packs of wings that needed to get used and no pre-made marinades in sight.

SO - I decided to get creative and hope for the best. What I didn't expect to happen was the absolutely magic that ensued! In fact, if you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I didn't even write the recipe down because I honestly expected it to be a flop. Was it? Oh no, quite the contrary. In fact, they were so good, I ended up making them again to get the recipe formally out into the universe and now I'm ready to share it you too. These wings are the perfect amount of spicy in my mind, but if you're ultra sensitive, just go easy on any of the ingredients listed below. On the flip side, if you like that feeling where your lips burn off and your esophagus turns to mush, you may want to up the ante a little bit and go heavy on the spices. For us in the middle people, these should be just right - goldilocks style.

Ingredients:

3 packs of wings (pasture-raised chickens are preferable)

2 tbsp. avocado or olive oil

1-2 tsp Cholula - Original

1/2 - 1 tsp. cayenne pepper – depending on level of spiciness desired

1/2  tsp. salt

2 tbsp. JD’s Salsa in Seconds   (Trust me, you can use this stuff for anything, you won't regret the purchase!)

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, add in avocado oil and all spices. Mix together then add wings. Toss wings in mixture so that each wing is coated evenly and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 40 minutes, turning oven to a low broil for the last 2-3 minutes to crisp them up.
