This pumpkin protein smoothie is to-die-for and makes me feel like I'm eating pumpkin pie without all the hassle! I'll be honest, I'd never tried a pumpkin smoothie before and was a bit apprehensive. I mean, don't get me wrong, I LOVE pumpkin pie, but I didn't exactly want to take the chance of ruining those happy memories by trying to make pumpkin something it's not ... I was wrong. 

This smoothie will be making repeat appearances in my house during these fall months, which is great news because pumpkin is full of so many health benefits, including high vitamin C content. Cold and flu season anyone?

4-5 ice cubes

1/2 cup organic pumpkin (the rest can be saved in the fridge in a glass container)

1 scoop Wild Foods Vanilla Whey Protein 

1/2 cup almond milk or raw, unpasteurized dairy milk 

1/2 banana (I like to freeze my other halves for future smoothies) 

2 tsp. raw maple syrup 

1 tsp. pumpkin spice blend 

1/2 tsp. cinnamon 

Blend together and enjoy! I like to top mine with a dusting of extra pumpkin spice, but that's up to you!
